Investment & Insurance

Investment

The fee for couples counseling/marriage therapy is $240 per 55 minute session.

Payment is due at the time of service.

Working with a smaller number of couples allows me to keep a focused practice and devote my energy to providing thoughtful, engaged care for the couples I work with.

A Private Pay Practice

I do not participate with insurance networks.

Many couples choose private pay therapy because it allows the work to remain focused on your relationship rather than insurance requirements. Insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis and may place limitations on the type or length of treatment.

Working outside of insurance allows us to focus on the goals that matter most to you as a couple.

Out-of-Network Benefits

Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.

If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to submit receipts for partial reimbursement.

I can provide a monthly statement (sometimes called a superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company if you choose.

You may wish to contact your insurance provider and ask about:

  • out-of-network mental health benefits • reimbursement rates for marriage and family therapy • deductible requirements

Why Some Couples Choose Specialized Therapy

Couples therapy requires a different skill set than individual therapy.

Many couples seek out therapists who specialize in relationship dynamics because recognizing patterns quickly and intervening effectively can help couples make meaningful progress.
